I think you should do what you want, but personally I think original work says more about someone. Fanart is like you said, mindless. I guarantee whatever you have to say is more interesting than any fanart could ever be.

i get what you mean, but like.. i dont know. this is my personal blog… i’m drawing original content constantly for school all year round (even this summer, with my film) and sometimes it exhausts me, so.. i like to unwind with a bunch of fandom crap because it makes me happy and it’s relaxing! i don’t have a blog for just my original/schoolwork, i just like to keep things all in one place.

i’m not trying to make excuses, but really, if you’re coming here solely for original art, you will be disappointed! :( when i do get original work done, i will post it here, but to be honest most of this blog’s art will be fanart.
