“we’re all winners!”
congrats to all the animated feature nominees! there’s a bit of fuss around brave winning the award, but honestly, look at all these beautiful movies. maybe one day, the academy will spend a little more time celebrating these animated films we all love so much, instead of spending 2 seconds on their categories and “getting them over with” in the first minutes of the awards ceremony.
here’s to next year!

i don’t know if it’s a surprise that i’m rooting for paranorman to win best animated feature…. :P
all the movies that are nominated are great in their own ways! but i really think laika is deserving of this award. i’ll be a little disappointed if it doesn’t win, but if it does, i’ll be over the moon!! so good luck, norman!

Aisling from Secret of Kells on being nominated for an Oscar in 2009 :) It was such a cute surprise when the awards played up all their “Best Animated Feature” nominations like this. You can watch the others here! It was such a great year for animated films.

So excited for the Oscars!!!

Theatrical Sneak Peek
Honestly, this may be too late to post, but Cartoon Network is sneak peeking an Adventure Time episode in an actual movie theater this week in order to qualify it for an Academy Award. For real. Basically, there’s an upcoming episode storyboarded by the incomparable Tom Herpich, “Thank You,” which the Powers That Be deemed Oscar-worthy. And while most of you are all, “ALL ADVENTURE TIME EPISODES ARE OSCAR-WORTHY, MEATHEAD,” this one is decidedly different. So if you’re in the Burbank area Wednesday and/or Thursday and want to get a glimpse of a future episode on the big screen, the showtimes those days are 11:20 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. The bad news is you will be required to pay full admission price; the good news is that cost does include admission to Dolphin Tale starring Harry Connick, Jr. And for you sad sacks who can’t make it, Cartoon Network will air “Thank You” in a slightly altered, longer form later this year.

SAEWLJWEJKLLKJWEW…. SAW A BIT OF THIS AT TCAF THIS YEAR. i have it on video but we’re (obviously) not allowed to leak it. all i can say is that since the audio didn’t work for the sneak peek they wanted to show us, pen did all the voices live.
