lengthy locks lives in the forest with her dumb birdies, and she takes lots of naps and this time she woke up late and didn’t really have time to freshen up so she used birdie spit to slick back her cowlicks and used the moss she was sleeping on to mcgyver a dress. it’s full of morning dew… plus her drool.
also since her date is a deer, she wants him to feel welcome and fit in so she fashioned herself a pair of antlers. they’re from sugoi cherry blossoms. they’re also a sweet little ride for her bird friends.
anyway lengthy locks is kind of a dirty hippie but she’s humble!!! excuse her dirty hooves she didn’t have time to dip them in the river. also, excuse the few stray feathers that she couldn’t quite get rid of.
she will never be a fancy pony but she’s okay with it….. she’s comfortable with who she is! :)

amanda and i saw the pirates! band of misfits yesterday, and i’d never heard of it before… it was really, really good! stop motion is so endearing and i have a lot of respect for stop-motion studios and animators because that shit is HARD. TO DO. there were adorable 2D sequences in it as well that were really beautiful, it was a pleasant surprise!
also i about lost it when i heard a very familiar voice in one of the songs in the film…. flight of the concords :D:D
also we both loved this character:
the surprisingly curvaceous pirate was so charming. also, salma hayek’s character…. i think her name is cutlass liz. she’s awesome AND A HOTTIe :D
anyway you should see this film and support it! it was pretty well done and there are some familiar voices in it… hugh laurie, martin freeman, for the sherlock crowd…. :)
they would have all the best adventures and PARTIES!!

i finally finished this!
3 HOURS!! it took me almost 2 days with the original, since i wasted so much time dicking around online and going at it slowly. and the original didn’t have a background either.
so i’m pretty proud of myself and now i can get started on my other print.

my mother is the most hardworking, sociable, hilarious, and beautiful women i know. she’s self-sacrificing and witty, fabulous, and loves her some flowers. she devotes her life to rescuing abused women, teaches high school special ed, and maintains beautiful friendships with everyone and everyone. i want to be like her when i’m grown up. she’s always active and makes the best food, too.
if it weren’t for my mom, i probably wouldn’t be where i am today, art-wise. she encouraged me since i was little to draw all the time, supported my need to doodle during class at school, and fought with my dad to let me pursue a career in animation, and now, she’s excited to see me go off to california.
i get overwhelmed with love for my mother. where would i be without her today?
